Zurich day one

Our first impression of Zurich is a very beautiful and historic town. The main centre of Zurich is actually quite small. It has taken us less than a day to see the majority of the sites around the town.
Oh, one important fact, did I mention the weather is just like our Auckland summer? It's absolutely wonderful compared to the heat and humidity of HK.

We visited most of the landmarks of Zurich, the Grossmunster,

and another landmark the Fraumunster.

They were both beautiful historic churches, however if I was to choose I think I like the Fraumunster better, because instead of imposing the atmosphere was more peaceful.

We also went up a cable car called Polybahn. It put us where the University is located as well as a lovely view of the whole city. Isn't it strange that all the roofs are the same shade of brown?

We had a walk around the shopping district, this is the first time I have seen so many LVs carried around, even in HK the there is not so many and all in the same place. On the bus there was this teenager with a Miu Miu as well. The people here are either really rich or they are very engaged in fashionable labels.

Zurich is a very easy going town, it's even more laid back than Auckland. We found our day so relaxing. Although it has been nice, would be better if there was more to do. If you ever travel here, remember that all the museums are closed on Mondays!

Oh, and there is many fountains here available for drinking, we've seen a lot of locals do it so we tried it out. The water is really refreshing! Even better than refrigerated filtered water!

Tonight we are sharing a room with a couple from India, the wife is a teacher and they are both our parent's age. Who said backpacking is limited for the young?

One more thing... there are so many sweet shops in Zurich trying to tempt us away from our money!
